Strength in Weakness //

We are never whole until we have been broken.
Never complete until we have been torn apart.

In our failures,
our deepest struggles,
is where we find our truest selves.

Yet we continue to allow the possibility of failure
to prevent us from taking risks.

We remain complacent,
only pursuing what is safe,
foregoing our greatest potential
because success is never quite guaranteed.

We move slowly
as opposed to speeding full force ahead,
devoting every thought to what might happen
if the ground below us
shatters
and we find ourselves
tumbling,
tumbling,
tumbling into thin air…

unable to control the unravelling
of the stitches
that we thought were so securely holding us all
together.

But the world,
my dear,
it’s not trying to break us.

At our lowest points,
in our toughest moments,
it is teaching us what is worth fighting for.

It’s only testing us with trials
that we are strong enough to overcome.

No barrier will ever be too big for us to defeat.

We must know, then,
that these troubles
and challenges
are all part of a particularly crafted plan.

A plan that is both beautiful and flawed,
whole yet fractured.

A plan, nonetheless, in which we have been made to trust.

In our weakness
lies the strength
to carry us through.
